Suzan Spann
Artistic Director, Producer

Suzan, a veteran teacher and actress has produced local children’s theater for the past fifteen years.  Credits include "Legally Blonde - the Musical", "Little Shop of Horrors", "Peter Pan Jr.", "Les Miserables School Edition", "Hairspray", "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat", "Oliver", "Grease", “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown”, “Annie”, Bugsy Malone”, “High School Musical”, "High School Musical 2", “Willy Wonka”, “Fiddler on the Roof”, "Guys & Dolls", "Bye Bye, Birdie", "Sound Of Music", "West Side Story" In Concert, and "The Rockin' Retro Musical".  She cofounded Upstage La Canada in 2001 and the critically acclaimed Upstage Summer Camp in 2003.
 
Suzan also taught in the Performing Arts Academy of John Marshall High School in Los Angeles, and has over twenty years of teaching experience.
 
Before moving to Los Angeles, Suzan was a member of the nationally ranked Indiana State University gymnastics team and a gymnastics coach for children.

Erin Chumas
Director/Musical Director

Erin Chumas has been working in the entertainment industry for over 16 years. She has performed in everything from improvisation to musical theatre, from wedding bands to operas, from Shakespeare in New York to cabarets in LA. Erin has most recently been seen performing in an Off-Broadway comedy and has toured all across the United States, Europe, and Asia.

Erin has a BFA in musical theatre and acting from Tisch School of the Arts at New York University and has been working in educational entertainment since 2003. She has toured with the Imagination Machine, an educational children's theatre company for nine years, and in 2006, Erin moved to Korea to help spearhead a program sponsored by UNICEF and the South Korean government to bring English as a second language to South Korean families through the performing arts. 
Erin has been teaching voice, piano and directing children's musical theatre since 2008. Favorite directing credits include: "Fiddler on the Roof Jr.,
"Legally Blonde - the Musical", "Guys and Dolls", "Mary Poppins", "Once On This Island" and "You're A Good Man Charlie Brown".

Erin recently launched a life wellness and presence coaching practice, That Vital Spark, where she guides clients to claim their own red carpet lives and to authentically express their inner and outer beauty.

Erin is currently directing two casts in the LCJT’s “Peter Pan Jr.”!

India Dupre

India has been teaching and directing musicals for the last 15 years.

Her children's theater credits include: "Little Shop of Horrors", "Les Miserables School Edition", "Oliver", "Grease", "Bye Bye Birdie", "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat", "Annie," "Willy Wonka",
"Sound Of Music" and "Guys and Dolls".

After receiving a Theater degree from UCLA, India taught at London's prestigious Dance and Music Academy.  She later returned to the US and has been teaching, and directing in Los Angeles ever since.

India was born in England and raised in Australia and is a professional singer, actress, and teacher.

India has most recently directed the hit production of Oliver and will be directing Les Miserables The School Edition this fall.

Thom Vacca
Director/Acting Teacher
 
Thom holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts with an emphasis in performance from San Francisco State University and since graduating in 2003, has taught and directed Youth Theater in San Francisco, Chicago, and Los Angeles. He is currently the Fine Arts Specialist in Drama at Paradise Canyon Elementary School, Palm Crest Elementary School, and La Canada Elementary School. Directing Credits include: "Legally Blonde - the Musical", "Little Shop of Horrors","Fiddler on the Roof Jr.", "Annie", "Grease", "Dear Edwina", “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown”, “Willy Wonka”, “Bugsy Malone”, "West Side Story" In Concert, "The Rockin' Retro Musical", "Hairspray" and "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat."


Thom is also a working an actor and comedian. He has performed and trained in Melodrama and Commedia dell’arte with the San Francisco Mime Troupe, and in Improvisation with Paul Sills, iO Theater, The Annoyance Theater, and The Second City.  Since arriving in Los Angeles in 2008, Thom has performed at The Second City Los Angeles, The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, iO West, and co-produces a weekly variety show downtown that was listed as one of the 50 Best Things To Do In LA in Los Angeles Magazine.

Maria Del Bagno
Choreographer

Maria is a professional dance teacher and choreographer and has founded her own dance program call "Dance Create", being taught in studios around Los Angeles.

Maria is the head of the dance program at South Pasadena and children''s theater credits include "Legally Blonde - the Musical", "Little Shop of Horrors","Fiddler on the Roof Jr.", "Peter Pan Jr.", "Les Miserables School Edition", "High School Musical", "Annie", "Guys and Dolls", "Willy Wonka", "Grease", "Hairspray" and "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat."

Maria has also choreographed professionally for music videos, TV and film for such companies as Disney and Mattel.

Jay Vincent
Guitar, Piano

Jay is a professional music composer and teacher and has taught students on acoustic, electric and bass guitar for the past 5 years.

Jay composes and conducts original scores for motion pictures, television, live theater and concerts.  Lead composer credits include the worldwide series "Lego: Ninjago" on the cartoon network, "Dragon Age 2", and "Mass Effect 3".
